Computer Vision & Image Analysis
Computer vision comprises a number of different tasks like detecting or locating objects in digital images or video. Computer vision has taken giant strides towards human-level performance in the last couple of years, and these strides are mainly a result of recent advances in machine learning research, increased computing power, and large, publicly available data sets. The UiT Machine Learning Group conducts fundamental research in order to advance computer vision as a whole while simultaneously developing novel computer vision systems for industrial applications. The UiT ML group is a core contributor to SFI Visual Intelligence.
